Kyoto

Wednesday, July 8, 2015
We ended up only staying 2 days in Kyoto. We left early to avoid a typhoon and so glad we did! It ended up hitting the island the night our original flight got in. So our sightseeing around Kyoto was short and sweet.

July 6
Just like getting to Tokyo, traveling really takes so much of the day (especially with a baby). Checked out of our hotel in the morning, road the bullet train, figured out how to get to our hotel, checked into our hotel, got lunch/explored, back to hotel to let Connor get a nap and then walked to dinner. Full day but didn't get much sight seeing done.

Traveling on the Shinkansen (bullet train).

Tokyo

July 2
Getting to Tokyo and our hotel (took all day!). We flew with the cheapest airline so the terminal was in the middle of the cargo loading area and we got plastic chairs to sit on.

9 months!

Monday, June 29, 2015
We welcomed Connor to 9 months with his daddy coming home!!! So happy! He gave Logan lots of smiles at the airport but when Logan held him at home Connor didn't know what to think about his beard. It was funny watching him poke it! I love how he has learned how to point. He uses this skill to point at pictures in his books, touch unfamiliar things and put his finger up my nose. Logan shaved soon after getting home and it was cute to see Connor preferred that. He likes to play with my face and mouth when I hold him for bottles too.
Honestly he has not gained much weight but he has gotten a lot taller. Connor has learned how to pull up on pretty much anything, he can walk along the couches, and although he has been moving around all over the place he is just learning how to really crawl. He has also learned how to get down after he pulls himself up. I help him with balance but I think he is still a while away from walking unless it is with his walker. He loves using it to cross the room all day long!
Along with pulling up and learning to walk we now have lots and lots of boo boos. He currently has about 4 bruises on his forehead. Poor baby! I try to keep him from really falling but can't save him every time.
Connor has 4 teeth now. Two on top and two on bottom. I have to say there is a huge difference between teething Connor and normal Connor! His top teeth are really far apart right now but I've heard they will get closer when his other teeth come in. Hope so.
I think I can really see that he is doing so much better and appears to be happier now that he is on formula. I was skeptical but now that the teething thing has passed I can really see the difference. I like how he has started to cross his ankles when he is laying down.
I love that Connor has really started to love his blankies! Every time he goes to sleep I put one in next to him in the crib. He then rolls his face into it or pulls it up to his face. When I take him out of his zippy (sleep sac), he likes to reach up by his head and grab his blanket and pull it to his mouth. Sometimes when he is getting tired I hand it to him and he likes to use it to rub his eyes.
Connor also really likes pacifiers now. He only gets them in bed. He tends to loose them at night so I put in a few strategically placed replacements for him to find. This morning he found all three! haha
Connor is a great in water. In the bath, I can dump a whole cup of water over his head and he doesn't mind. The best thing is that he loves swimming! I have a floaty and he laughs, kicks and has a great time in the ocean or pool!
Along with lots of moving I'm also starting to see how smart he is getting! He remembers things that he didn't used to. Like when he is in his room he always books it over to his sound machine. He loves pushing the buttons to change the sounds. In the living room, he loves to pull off all his books every day. Connor knows that under his high chair is where I keep a thing of wipes and tries to get it every time I take the tray off.
Connor is also learning to problem solve. Not ready for him to learn how to open drawers!

He hates being hungry or hot the most. I can relate to the hungry thing. He definitely has Logan's temperature gage. I wear a hoodie around the house but he is happy in a t-shirt and shorts. When we go out, I have all but one air vent going back to him but when it is really hot he just sits there looking like he is melting. Connor also doesn't like being stuck in one place too long. I guess he has things to go and do. Connor really hates it when he sees me leave a room but if I slip away unnoticed he is ok.

I love how happy this little boy is these days! No more crying going to bed and when he wakes up he likes to kick and flap arms like crazy right after I get him out of his sleep sac! Connor likes to smile at anyone who talks to him at the store and gets really excited when I play with him. He will still go to anyone for a little bit. He still does his whiny thing when he gets frustrated at being in one spot too long or if I don't give him enough attention but it really has been so much better.

Here are my favorite shots! (I edited these)
The pic on the above right shows my view most of the day! Wherever I am is Connor's favorite place. If I am standing near by or sitting on the floor, he comes to crawl up on me.
Look at him learning to stand! All he needs is something to lean on, or to hold one or my fingers.

This last bunch I think really show this little guy's personality!
He started this tongue thing right after his two top teeth came in.
I love all these photos!!

On the move

Wednesday, June 24, 2015
This little guy is all over the place now! I have taught him how to pull up, walk along things and he can now get back down! But earlier he surprised me. I was sitting in front of him because he was standing holding onto the swivel office chair (not very stable) and all the sudden he let go and stood all by himself for a second or two! Then he plopped on his bum because he definitely didn't mean to do it but I was pretty impressed!

It has been super hot and humid lately but tonight it took a break and was so nice so we went to the park until bedtime.
Love that little tongue sticking out because he is concentrating so hard!
Not into the climbing wall. At all. That's fine by me! I don't need him climbing any time soon.

8 1/2 month videos

Tuesday, June 16, 2015
He is pulling up on everything and is not afraid to let go. The only thing missing is moving his feet so I have been encouraging him to use them more. Look at his progress!
In this next vid all I was doing was opening my mouth. He thought it was SO funny!
I love it when Connor notices something for the first time! He is a fun kid.

FHE at the Beach

It is our ward's tradition to have group FHE at the Kadena Marina every summer! So we went down and had fun with our friends there!

Getting Out of the House

Saturday, June 13, 2015
I could have just stayed in and watched TV while Connor played but I decided to get out and go do something even though my only companion is Connor (I have actually been pretty good at this even though Logan is gone). So we went to one of our favorite photo shoot places! Toguchi Beach.

When I got there, it was so hot and humid (at 6pm) outside it took me camera about 20 minutes before it wasn't foggy any more so some are from my phone and a few are with my nice camera.
Nice day!
Just chilling on the beach.
Oh, hey look at that stuff...
....hum now it is on my hand. I wonder what it is?
Who cares! ...must put it in my mouth anyway!
plahh! Mom, why did you let me do that?!
