Dolphin Show and Butterfly House

Thursday, September 15, 2016
I'm part of a Facebook group called Okinawa Adventure Group made up of the church women that want to experience more of Okinawa. I don't go out with them every week but when they are doing something new I try to go!

This last week they went to the free dolphin show at the aquarium and then the butterfly house. I invited my neighbor and she was nice enough to take some pictures for me since I was pretty busy with my little guy.

I'm glad I've seen the dolphin show a few times now because Connor only wanted to crawl down the isle stairs and run across the completely full rows of Japanese people. I was finally able to convince him to sit on my lap with a box of raisins. He liked when the audience would clap and called the Dolphins "fish".
Then we all drove to the butterfly house. It was basically a green house with lots of white butterflies. The Japanese are awesome at providing umbrellas for rain or sun! And look at that view as we walked to the greenhouse! I live here!
Once we got in, Connor again just wanted to run, climb and drink unsanitary sources of water.
He was interested the first time we saw a butterfly land but after that they were old news or just in the way as he ran down the path!
Connor really wanted to climb this water feature. I didn't let him but it did make him stop for a moment long enough for some butterflies to land on him.
Then he was off again.
There were fake flower bouquets to attract the butterflies. I handed one to Connor to hold and the first thing he did was try and swipe it on the floor like a broom! Poor butterflies!
So I held it instead.
Connor made some pretty funny faces! But he really was very happy and having a good time!
Here are some more cute pictures.
The two places we saw are both an hour and a half away from our house. I'm always so proud when I get out with Connor to do bigger trips like this! It's not easy and I was lucky I had my neighbor there to help!
