Churaumi Aquarium

Look! I made it out of the house today! And the most impressive part is that it was an hour and a half drive but Connor was so good! Like, the whole time! On the drive back he got a little fussy when I had to stop at the lights but thanks to his new car seat, I can reach back and pop a little cereal treat in his mouth and then he is good again. Once I got on the Expressway, he slept almost until we were home. The new car seat was worth every penny!
I went with a group of my friends and while they were getting their passes (I had my annual pass from when mom was here) I went out to take some pictures. These Japanese ladies took the pic for me and then took turns passing Connor around (asking me questions like how old he was, how old I was, and wanting to know something about my husband that I didn't get) and showing him off to a bunch of school girls for about 5 minutes until he started to get a little overwhelmed. Lots and lots of people walk by and said "kawaii"! (meaning so cute in Japanese)  I am starting to hear that a lot these days.
Connor loved looking at all the fish! I guess I thought he would still be too small to appreciate the aquarium so it was a fun surprise! The only sounds I heard from him was squeals of delight.
The coolest thing at the aquarium by far is the whale shark tank! The second coolest thing (that I appreciate now) is that there are several nursing rooms strategically placed around the complex so I never have to worry about needing to nurse him. This is one of my favorite things about Japan. They value nursing mothers and the little rooms are not fancy but very convenient usually having a screened off bench or chair, changing table, and bottle warmer.
The aquarium is part of a huge complex on the East China Sea. In the distance you can see another little island called Ie. It was a beautiful day! I love living here! I already told Logan I want to extend another year. Even 4 years wouldn't be long enough.
This last pic was a little washed out but I still loved it! Look how happy my little man is!!
I was really glad he was so happy and good today. It made me feel like a normal mom, hanging out with my fellow mom friends. Also, we had a pretty bad night last night and I thought I wouldn't get to go and I felt bad for letting him cry for a half hour in his crib. Kids are so forgiving! I love this little guy!
