It ended up being a overcast/sprinkly day but I really wanted to get out. Connor is grumpy from getting his first tooth but he is always happier when we get out and there is more to distract him. We went to the Hija river to see the Koinobori (Carp kites). They raise them all over the island for Children's day. See this and this for short little explanations about the holiday.
Traditionally, families with sons raise these flags outside their homes, one for each boy, symbolizing that they will grow up strong and brave. Beings I have a little guy now, I got a little one from the 100 yen store to celebrate my little man!
We love our son so much! He feel asleep on the way home. So cute! I'd feel bad about his neck but since he was little he has liked to sleep with his head in strange positions.
