Trying to think of how to recap this year. I'd say it could be defined by "work hard, play hard". Logan was gone for most of the first half of this year but luckily he has been around since August! I started this year with Connor in the states at Katie and Jeff's house. They were so good to take us in along with Mom & Dad for the holidays while Logan was in Singapore.
Some of the bigger things we did this year were our trips! In March Logan's mom came and watched Connor while we went to Cambodia. Then we got to visit the states again this last summer and finished the year up with South Korea and our cruise to Southeast Asia!
Connor is now 36 inches tall and 30 pounds! He just went through a growth spirt and everyone comments on how big he is! He's a lot of fun AND a lot of work too! He is happiest when he has free range to run, climb and throw things. I just laugh when people around me comment on how high energy he is. Haha - they have no clue! Connor loves cars, olives, watching anything animated and being outside. He still isn't talking much but we usually know what he wants. He has big expressions and loves to squeal in delight (until my ears ring). We love him!
I think my favorite part of this year is that we really have his allergies under control and life has been much better (for all of us). Connor's first year of life was really hard for me. His second, although very busy, has been much better and we are glad to see him healthy and growing.
Logan has been working the hardest of all this year. Between trips and work he finished his masters degree and Spanish language courses. He has also been excelling at work and has been given two awards for it this year. His favorite activity is spending time with us at home. Other than financially taking care of all of us, Logan also gets up and plays with Connor on Saturdays, washes the dishes everyday and rubs my back while we watch TV! He is pretty great.
As for me, I feel like most of my accomplishments fall under "I kept Connor alive another year". I feel like I haven't really done much to better myself this year (goal for next year!). But I am proud that I get to teach and spend time with my little man everyday, I serve my friends and neighbors in small ways, I've done several photo shoots, blogged and kept our house together (despite what Connor does). Life is good.
We have loved living in Okinawa but have a move coming up next year. It will be sad to leave but a new fun adventure and we wait in anticipation to learn where that will be. We are excited to come to the states again in January for my little sister Shelby's wedding.
Merry Christmas everyone!
