More Molars

So I still need to get Connor's 18 month post up but here is a quick update. 

Connor just went through a big growth spirt! He finally fits some 18 month pants on his skinny waist but unfortunately can reach the top of the kitchen counter too! Today I watched him get on his toes and reach something that was several inches in from the edge! Not cool. 

On top of that he is teething his two top molars at the same time. Glad it will be over faster but it is not fun for either of us. To keep him happy and his mind off of it a lot of this has been happening...

...yes, I'm one of those moms that cave and let my kid watch shows on my iPad. It is either that or loose my sanity (plus I like watching Ponyo and Totoro with him). It probably wouldn't be so bad but with Logan gone I don't get breaks. Late night insomnia and Connor waking up at 4 or 5 just don't work for me for some reason. 

I'm trying to stay positive though because with them he is already able to chew better! Once they finish coming in he will have one molar on top and one on bottom on each side to chew with. I can't wait till the day I can just throw him a carrot or celery for snacks. 

From Sunday 

And now today (Wednesday). 

It's hard to keep him still but he actually will open his mouth up for me now when I ask him to show me his teeth. In all the pictures he was actually pretty happy. 

We were in the kitchen taking the teeth pics and when he was done I guess he thought it was my turn because he pushed me over and landed on my stomach and we both had a fun time laughing and took some silly selfies. 

I love this kiddo!

Happy Easter

We took Connor to the base Egg-splosion event. They had Easter egg hunts by age so it was perfect for his first one to run around with all the other kids 2 and under. He was very interested in the other little kids. I was impressed that the parents of the kids that got the concept better left eggs around the little ones and a little girl closer to 2 that had a ton walked around and she gave her eggs to the littler kids.

After he was done picking up eggs, I switched the ones with candy he couldn't eat with ones I filled and gave the originals to another kid that got there late. Connor never knew the difference! I filled his with puff cereals, special fruit snacks he can have and raisins. Not that exciting but Connor was just happy with this whole new thing he didn't care. Anything when eaten out of an egg is great!

Connor really was intrigued with the Easter bunnies running around. I think he thought it was a kind of animal. He wanted to see them but not touch so I didn't make him.

After that we took him to the little petting zoo area. He loves animals!

Here he is with is Easter bucket. The eggs had the same things in them and I got him bubbles, a chick, suckers and some gluten free cookies we can make together someitme!!

The sucker was favorite until he stuck it in his hair haha!

Okuma Beach Resort

Before we left on our mini vacation to Okuma, I gave Connor his Bunny Day present a few days early because it would be perfect for our little trip!

Last year vs now!

I can't believe Connor is old enough to be going through holidays again for the second time!  

Our Corned Beef and Cabbage with carrots and potatoes turned out really yummy this year! I always make it and wonder why I don't do it more often! So good!

Cambodia Day 1

Ahh! I had to leave my baby behind! It was so hard but so great having time together with my husband oh was it worth it! 

Cambodia was amazing! We got in late and the next morning I got some shots of the outside of our villa. The inside was nice with living room/kitchenette separated from the bedroom and huge bathroom. 

I loved how green the outside area is and it was pretty sweet that we had our own private pool on the roof. We also had our breakfast up there. I got a normal "American" breakfast with eggs, toast, bacon and fruit. Logan went exotic with a Cambodian breakfast including a whole chicken foot! (He didn't order that the next morning).

Before heading to the Flight of the Gibbons (zip lining!!) We needed to get some sunblock. I asked where we could go and within seconds we were on our first tuk tuk ride to the convenience store. I thought it would be scary but it was pretty fun. At the store I laughed because all the sunblock was only 20 spf except the one baby sunblock. So of course I got the 50 spf baby sunblock. They just don't realize how white I am. 

Flight of the Gibbons is a zip line adventure through the national park. You don't get to see any temples but it was still a cool experience. Here we are getting all ready. 

There were 10 zip lines and 4 bridges. 

This was the group we did the whole thing with along with two guides. Poor Logan, always out numbered by girls. 

Logan had the GoPro and I had the camera but we switched this time so I could show you what it looked like to fly above the canopy. Remember it looks like the ground it where the tops of the trees are but it is much further down then it looks. I am afraid of falling but there was never a second I was not securely attached to a line so it was no problem.

The end we repelled down. That was awesome! The long lines were my favorite but this was a close second. 

The guide said this was a silk tree. We also passed lots of resin trees. 

One of our brochures advertised the Cambodian Phare Circus so we thought that would be fun. What we learned once we were there was that is was part of a school run by an NGO to train kids in traditional Cambodian arts and that is in turn funded by the circus' performances. Online it says "Phare Performing Social Enterprise has three complimentary social missions: Provide gainful employment to Cambodian youth from difficult social and economic backgrounds, financially sustain our parent organization Phare Ponleu Selpak NGO school thereby contributing to the rebirth of Cambodian modern art." http://pharecircus.org/about-us/. It was impressive but also had some serious undertones hitting on the history and culture of Cambodia. 

After the show you could take a picture with all the performers!

Afterwards we went to the night market and got fresh fruit smoothies by Pub Street. Quite the party scene.
