4 Months Old

Thursday, January 29, 2015
Connor is 4 months old!! We have had a lot of fun here at Grandma and Grandpa's house this last month. He now weighs 13.5 pounds and is about 24 inches (that puts him in about the 25th percentile).

He loves to smile, eat, play on his floor mat, stand and give smiles to anyone who talks to him. Some of his new tricks include happy screaming, eating invisible food (pretend chewing), he is getting really good at finding where sounds are coming from and he is getting better with his hands. When standing he likes to kick his left leg. OH and the slobber, so much slobber! He has started to become very interested in the food we eat watching all of us. He also loves when I put a few drops of water on his tongue and drank a little bit out of my cup once. He laughed for the first time. He has really found his voice and loves to talk and tell me stories. He has started to be interested in watching TV.

And now for the pictures!!! SO MANY PICTURES!
He loves his mommy! and mommy kisses.
Grandma and Grandpa Reeves gave him a little puppy stuffed animal and he loves it. It is the perfect size for him to hold and the nose is great to suck on.
I love when he is happy, he is happy with his whole body!
After eating, he is so happy in the mornings and has the best faces.
He has a lot of fun with his Grandparents like helping with the dishes and playing with grandma.
He is finally starting to grow hair on the top of his head! It is just very light.
He still loves his baths. He is also trying to learn how to roll over. He hasn't yet but tries really hard.
I think he looks like Logan the most when he is sleeping.

And now for some 4 month pics.

Connor's First Trip To America!

Monday, January 12, 2015
Ready to go! Of course about two minutes after this he threw up all over his shoulder and down his back but we worked through it. I didn't bring the hat because Connor has a big noggin and it didn't fit.
Got to the airport thanks to my visiting teacher with all our stuff! I was really nervous I forgot something or would need more but it turns out I can probably be fine with just a little less next time although he still went through 3 outfits.
I love how baby friendly Japan is. They have special baby seats I could put him in so I could go to the bathroom. At both the Japanese airports they had nice nursing rooms too.
Connor slept through the whole first 3 hour flight to Tokyo.
Then in Tokyo he kinda fussed right until we got to our gate. I was going to let him play and stretch out a bit but he fell asleep again. I love how well he sleeps in the wrap. Look how funny his lips are. I also love his neck rolls.
He slept at the airport right up until we had to get on out 10 hour flight! I took advantage of pre boarding so I could get on early to clean around my seat with wipes and get my carry ons put up. Crazy enough it was only me and an older lady in a wheel chair who were in that group. Turns out Connor was the only kid or baby on the whole flight! Luckily the two Japanese men I sat next to were very understanding and helpful.

I was excited to have the bassinet seat and Connor played in it a while. About an hour after I got him to sleep in it they had some turbulence and I had to take him out when they turned on the seat belt sigh on. I ended up holing him the rest of the time. It was hard even though he slept a lot because I was really tired. Also I thought nursing would be no problem and wasn't worried about it at all but it is hard in a tiny seat! Even tiny baby Connor is too long. I ended up turning sideways with his legs on my lap out front and my ribs in the arm rest just to get him to latch. Not fun.

Our last flight was only about an hour and 20 minutes but kept getting delayed because they had to change all the right wheels of the plane. This was the best flight because there was an empty seat next to me and I could put Connor down. He loved it! In fact he liked it so much he screamed at me when I picked him up to nurse during landing (to help his ears equalize and feel better) so I stopped and put him down and he was happy again. I heard a little kid sitting behind me tell him mommy "it s nice that the baby stopped crying". I feel very fortunate that was the only negative complaint I got.

In fact people were very kind and helpful! Especially several men old and young. They asked about how old he was a smiled at Connor. Lots of men asked if I needed help when getting my carry one up in the over head compartment and would jump up to help even if I didn't ask. Even the Japanese guy I sat next to on my long flight saw I was nursing when they brought around dinner and got my tray out, opened my utensils and took the tops off all the food for me! One man even carried my bag all the way to my gate for me. Thanks to all your prayers I had so many kind souls there for me even if it was a kind gesture or encouraging statement.
After 26 hours of travel it was so great getting to Albuquerque. I loved seeing mom and dad with my baby! I'm so happy to be here and that I don't have to get on a long flight again for at least a little while.

Blessing Day

Sunday, January 4, 2015
Today we gave baby Connor a name and a blessing at church! It was a very special experience!

He was a little grumpy (I think I accidentally ate something with milk in it) so I was super worried he would scream through the whole thing! We got to church early and I fed him right up until they were finishing the opening prayer and walked in just in time to hand him off to Logan as he went up for the blessing. As I handed him off, Connor started fussing, oh no!
Once Logan got to the front Connor stopped and as all the men put their hands under him and bounced him he just quietly looked up at their faces. It was a miracle! He was so good through the whole thing! My home teacher later said he had never seen a baby bounced as much during a blessing but if you think about it, most are just a few weeks old little babies while Connor is a full sized 3 month old! Either way, if that is what it took then I am so glad!

I was also so proud at the beautiful blessing Logan gave Connor. I knew Logan was nervous (and even sweating when he sat back down) but the blessing was clear, perfect length and definitely inspired by God.
Not the whole thing but here are some of the notes that I took from his Blessing:
Connor you were born during the fullness of the gospel and as such we bless you to meet the challenges of these days. Connor, we bless you to have a strong mind, body and spirit. Bless you with a love of the gospel and for your family. Bless you with a honest heart and inquisitive mind. Bless you to have a strong relationship with your Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and to have the knowledge to turn to your Heavenly Father when you are in need. We bless you to serve those around you that are in need. Connor we bless that you will be able to serve a mission with faith and the power of God. Bless you with appreciation for all you have been given and to give back.
We are so lucky to have this little guy in our lives! In the picture above he was smiling at me when he was supposed to be going to sleep in his daddy's arms.
I ended up loving Connor's blessing outfit. I found this outfit during Christmas and it had the ugliest felt vest and plaid bow tie but underneath was a perfect white button down shirt with grey baby slacks. Then my visiting teacher the week before gave me the tie because it was too small for her kid unknowing how perfect it would be with this outfit! I thought he looked like the cutest little man matching his daddy!
