Today we gave baby Connor a name and a blessing at church! It was a very special experience!
He was a little grumpy (I think I accidentally ate something with milk in it) so I was super worried he would scream through the whole thing! We got to church early and I fed him right up until they were finishing the opening prayer and walked in just in time to hand him off to Logan as he went up for the blessing. As I handed him off, Connor started fussing, oh no!
Once Logan got to the front Connor stopped and as all the men put their hands under him and bounced him he just quietly looked up at their faces. It was a miracle! He was so good through the whole thing! My home teacher later said he had never seen a baby bounced as much during a blessing but if you think about it, most are just a few weeks old little babies while Connor is a full sized 3 month old! Either way, if that is what it took then I am so glad!
I was also so proud at the beautiful blessing Logan gave Connor. I knew Logan was nervous (and even sweating when he sat back down) but the blessing was clear, perfect length and definitely inspired by God.
Not the whole thing but here are some of the notes that I took from his Blessing:
Connor you were born during the fullness of the gospel and as such we bless you to meet the challenges of these days. Connor, we bless you to have a strong mind, body and spirit. Bless you with a love of the gospel and for your family. Bless you with a honest heart and inquisitive mind. Bless you to have a strong relationship with your Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and to have the knowledge to turn to your Heavenly Father when you are in need. We bless you to serve those around you that are in need. Connor we bless that you will be able to serve a mission with faith and the power of God. Bless you with appreciation for all you have been given and to give back.
We are so lucky to have this little guy in our lives! In the picture above he was smiling at me when he was supposed to be going to sleep in his daddy's arms.I ended up loving Connor's blessing outfit. I found this outfit during Christmas and it had the ugliest felt vest and plaid bow tie but underneath was a perfect white button down shirt with grey baby slacks. Then my visiting teacher the week before gave me the tie because it was too small for her kid unknowing how perfect it would be with this outfit! I thought he looked like the cutest little man matching his daddy!
