Thanksgiving/Birthday

Thursday, November 27, 2014
For Thanksgiving we went over to our friends house. Last year she had just had a baby so we made them dinner and then this year they made almost everything for us! I made the rolls.
Connor was mostly happy but didn't want to sleep while we ate so Logan and me took turns eating. Then that sleepy little guy knocked out a little after and slept pretty much the rest of the time we were there.
It was a nice and low-key day. But it was also my birthday!! After dinner we celebrated me :)
Logan helped me make the fruit pizza and Connor helped me blow the cool candles my sister sent out.
Although this is how he really felt about my birthday.
Thanks for all the thoughtful gifts and Amazon gift cards!

Baby and Me

Wednesday, November 26, 2014
I decided I didn't have enough pictures of Connor and me so I had Logan take some. I didn't brush my hair or fix my makeup but I still love them.

Baby boy was so good and happy all day even this evening!!!

Grandma in Japan

Tuesday, November 18, 2014
Mom made it here!! She is officially the first one of our family to meet Connor and to visit us in Japan! I think Connor already has her wrapped around his little finger! Love being able to share this little guy!
We went to American Village, a shopping center near base, for sushi and to walk on the sea wall.
We got lots of yummy sushi and mom tried some fresh raw nigiri for the first time. She decided that it wasn't exactly her favorite thing. The raw salmon was ok, still had pretty good flavor but the raw white fish was hard to get down!  The crab and avocado rolls were wonderful! Mom also tried Melon Soda for the fist time and thought it was yummy too.
After we were stuffed, we took the two of them (grandma and baby) out to see the ocean for the first time! It was a beautiful day for a walk.
Mom couldn't help but to go down to the beach for a few shells.
This afternoon we took mom on a walk out by Cape Zanpa. She loved how the water was a rich navy blue but didn't really show in the pictures. Here are some pics from the trip.
One of mom's favorite parts was the amazing and rugged cliffs on the other side.
After our walk, we stopped by the cookie factory to try all the samples! It was fun watching how they are made and showing her some iconic Okinawa treats and trinkets. I loved putting Connor in the Moby wrap for the first time. He slept the whole time and is just adorable.
I forgot that after he was born that he would be here for that day. I guess that I was still thinking that I wasn't sure if he would be born by then or not. Luckily, Mom was more prepared! She brought him two of the sweetest outfits! The first one he wore all day and then we changed him into his pumpkin that night. Only three friends that stopped by actually got to see him when we brought him out but it was still worth it!
A big highlight of her trip was visiting the beaches! Here are a few...
Toguchi beach

Maeda Flats

Muruku Beach

Taco rice and blue seal afterwards!
So sad when I had to take mom to the airport. I cried!  I'll miss her so much already! She was so good to me and Connor! She was amazing to me and my baby!
Some other things we did was go to the glass factory, the aquarium, farmers market, Cape Manzamo, Shuri Castle, Zakimi Castle and lots of other great places!

Getting So Big

Monday, November 10, 2014
Connor loves to nurse now and is getting much better at it. We tried to give him a bottle the other day in the car and he was not very interested. When he is hungry he pretty much will not take the pacifier because he knows that food doesn't come from there. We usually try to give him the pacifier when we change his diaper to help him get through it and when he takes it, he sucks it really hard and grunts to tell us he still doesn't like what we are doing.
One of Connor's newest tricks is that he is learning to lock his legs so he can stand. They used to automatically go to the froggy position as soon as you picked him up.
He hates his car seat and cries the hardest I've ever seen him do unless you put him in asleep or very sleepy and help him fall asleep. Then he sleeps like a baby until he gets hungry. I hope he can learn to like it or put himself to sleep because it makes me feel bad to take him anywhere unless he is down for a nap or someone is in the back seat with him.
^ I tried to make the head rest the same size so you can see how much he has grown. 6 weeks vs 3 days old.
