Flying to Japan!

Thursday, September 19, 2013
So we have started our final leg to Japan! That means we are hanging out at the airport all night before our flight. Literally.
It is 1:30 right now and we got to the Seattle airport at 11:45pm Wednesday night. We hung out and then got in the ticket line around 12:30. Check in begins at 2:30am Thursday and then we get to wait at the gate until our flight leaves at 8:50am! I hope we get some sleep on the plane!
You can't quite see it but there are a lot of people in line (most are sitting on the floor like me). We are 4th in line so we hope to get pretty good seats.
Our baggage is behind me. Two checked bags and two carry ons each. We got a cart and it was the best $5 ever spent! We would have never made it to the line with all the luggage. But what we have right now will be our only stuff until October so we had to pack as much as possible.
So far we have played cards and eaten our chipotle burritos. I can tell Logan is already getting loopy by the funny random noises and comments he has been making. It should be pretty entertaining by 4 in the morning! I will try and keep you posted.

Other interesting things so far. We are only allowed 2 checked bags each and when they announced it, it was pretty funny to watch some guys faces knowing that they have to pay $116 for each bag over that! Ouch! We also saw a some people apparently experiencing the escalators for the first time. Imagine the scene from Elf but with a middle eastern family of 3 and you can probably imagine how funny it was to watch!

Salt Lake to Seattle

I feel like the last half of our trip went really fast. It was great being able to spend a day with Michelle and Clarke. We went to the Salt Lake temple and it was great being back since the last time was when we got married.
After the temple, we brought some lunch back to Grandpa and Grandma Dixon's. It was great being able to see them! They are so special to us.

The next day we drove on up to the Tri Cities area spent the night at the Garnica's. I wish we could have stayed and hung out with Robin and Fred and the kids longer but Logan was anxious to get up to Seattle and fix the car up to be ready to sell.
We cleaned and cleaned and it looks really great now! It will be sad to sell. Bradly was such a good car! If it doesn't sell then we will be happy to have it when we get back but it will also be nice to not have to worry about it.
On the day before we left, Logan took me out to the botanical gardens. They were so beautiful. We had a fun time walking around. I think my sister Katie would have loved it here. It was very whimsical. Here are some pictures:
I think Logan was trying to break in or something. He is so silly.

Provo, UT

We had a great time with Cynthia and Cameron and Kara.
We went up the canyon and did foil dinners, played with Kara, ate ice cream and I got to take some family pictures of the cute Green family.

Campfires and Parties

Here are some more pics I got when we were out visiting Cynthia and Cameron. Here are some cute ones of Kara when we were up the canyon.
Something I thought was really cute is that Cynthia threw me a early birhday party complete with balloons and candles! It was really fun! Thanks Cynthia!!

Vernal, UT

Monday, September 9, 2013
After seeing Logan's maternal grandparents for a few day and helping my sister move we went to Vernal, UT to see my bestie Megan and her family. While we were there we went on a rafting trip. Here are some highlights:
Apparently to be a fun rafting trip you had to get into the water. It was freezing cold but with a little encouragement we all ended up getting in!
As you can see by my face, we pretty much flash froze our bottom halfs. It was fun looking back on it now :)
Bailing out the raft.
While we were there we also got to go to a dinosaur museum called the quarry because they have a wall of partially unearthed dinosaur bones that you can see sticking out of the dirt. It really was fascinating being able to see what they look like before scientists take them out of the ground.

Colorado

Tuesday, September 3, 2013
We spent a few days with family at my grandparents cabin in our drive up to Washington. It was especially special because my sister Katie flew down and my other older sister Cynthia and her family drove there so all of my family except my bother in law Jeff were there. I always love it when me and all my sisters are all together!

While we were there we helped fill in the old root cellar, went fishing and had a great time being together as a family.
