Shelby's Graduation and Mother's Day

Thursday, May 17, 2012
So this weekend me and my three sisters drove out to Albuquerque to surprise my little sister for graduation! Mom and Dad took her out to eat and that's when we snuck up on her! It was so cute because she almost lost her balance when we popped out! It has been just the funnest being here with my family (except I miss Logan).

The other benefit was that we also got to be here on Mother's day! We went to the Tohajiiliee Branch with my dad and it was three members and our family! Right before church Cynthia asked if we wanted to sing a special number in sacrament for mother's day and we all decided that would be fun so we picked a song, sang it one time through and then gave the number later in sacrament! I love singing with my sisters more that anything else in the world and it was a great number because we all sound like we have the same voice! My mom said it was the best mother's day surprise and she never wanted the song to end!

Sunday night we had a great time playing games and spending time together! That night Shelby also all called us in together as a family and read us a special Thank You letter she wrote to all of us! Here is what she wrote about me:

"Anna. Baby. Thank you for being my first older sister. Thank you for finally loving me after I was born. Thanks for letting mom put us in matching clothing, I thought it was kinda cool. Thank you for letting me watch anime with you. Thank you for all the quote jokes we’ve shared over the years. Thank you for always showing me how to make the right decision, and being a close role model for me as I grew up. Thank you for all the times you let me tag along and play with you and your friends. Thank you for coming out to my graduation. Thanks for teasing me about what the word epidermis meant when I was in 2nd grade. Thank you for all the times you comforted me when I was sad, and singing hymns to me in our beds. Thank you for “accidentally” spitting on me from the top bunk. Thank you for showing me how to wonder and dream about my future, and the places I might go. Thank you for teaching me the preamble when I was young so I could impress other people for knowing it. Thank you for the intense kindness you have showed me, through making me finals care packages, and always checking up on me. Thank you for showing me how staying close as a family is a blessing, and how you can accomplish this by calling every member of the family, especially mom, 3 times a day. Thanks for being the baby of the family, and I love you."

Isn't that the cutest thing in the world! She is a great writer and I am so proud for all she has accomplished! She even graduated in the top 20 kids of her class! wow! It was just amazing to be there with all my family for Shelby's graduation!
(Fun Fact: Shelby and me graduated with the same class rank number!)

How cute! Maybe it's just me, but suddenly I feel like our family is so grown up. When did that happen?
