November in Albuquerque

It was great to get to spend some time with my family especially during the Holidays! They really know how to throw a party! The day before my birthday Logan and me were out on a date and when we got home, my parent's whole downstairs had been turned into a Totoro forest including two Totoro piñatas!
What is a Totoro, you may ask? Well, it is a fictional forest spirit. When I was a little girl one of my favorite movies was My Neighbor Totoro by Hayao Miyazaki- great movie!
Earlier that week, my sister asked what kind of theme I wanted for my party and I said bamboo. She took it one more step and made it a Totoro Party! What a great idea!

For lunch we had sukiyaki and sushi. Then we also made dessert sushi with rice crispies, fruit leather and sweedish fish! They were great too!

After dinner we had my cousins come over to help us with the Totoro piñata! Kara helped by kicking it too - so cute! I was sad to break it but thinking ahead, my family made two of them so I still got to keep one! It was a great birthday!

After everyone went, it was my turn! Those kids know how to spin you!

Thanks to my family for a great birthday! I am a lucky girl!

Also, before we left to go to Washington for Christmas, we had our first annual Don and Grace Reeves Christmas Party! Mom made us some great costumes for the Nativity and Ashley and Allison helped me make some yummy cookies for dessert!
